Eileen Fleming, extreme anti-Israel candidate runs for Congress

Eileen Fleming, an extreme left-wing, anti-Israel in the name of human rights resident of Florida is running for Congress in Florida's 5th Congressional District.

Just how anti-Israel is she?

First, her website home page features articles on the Israeli air force attack on the USS Liberty in the Six-Day War in 1967 when it was mistaken for an Egyptian war ship.  Israel apologized for the attack following investigations by US and Israeli armed forces and civilian groups.  But that has not been enough for Miss Fleming.

Second, Miss Fleming's position on all things Palestinian is one of either ignorance or intentional malice towards Israel and Israelis.  She has bought into the canard that Arab Christians are fleeing Israel when the opposite is the case, and decries the physical separation of Israeli and Arab communities without mentioning the reasons why the wall and fences were necessary in the first place.

Third, Miss Fleming cannot distinguish between the thousands of missile attacks launched from Gaza by Hamas, et al, and the need for an Israeli response in Operation Cast Lead.

The list goes on and on.  Surely, she won't win the election, but America is such a great country that it gives her the opportunity to run for elected office.

That's what think.

The Jews did it! Iranian says Mossad behind Egypt church blast

You might ask how long it would take for an Iranian to blame Israel and the Jews for the devastating terror attack in Egypt that left more than 20 people dead and scores injured. Well, we didn't have to wait long as Iran's Press TV has published an op-ed blaming Israel's Mossad and Zionists for the bomb attack.

One Hassan Hanizadeh, an editorial writer at the Tehran Times but no apparent relation to Baghdad Bob, has written,

Although, at first glance, the finger is pointed at extremist Wahabi or Salafi groups, it goes without saying that no Muslim, whatever their political leanings may be, will ever commit such an inhumane act.

Attacks on churches in Egypt, Lebanon, Iraq and Tunisia can be analyzed in the context of a Zionist scenario aimed at driving a wedge between Muslims and Arab Christians.
The goal of the attack was "aimed at creating a rift between Muslims and Christians."

The scary aspect of his column is actually found in the comments that follow. They tend to demonstrate that Hanizadeh is not alone in his let's point the finger at Jews world. Enough said.

More Christian casualities in Iraq

We previously posted a story about the plight of a dwindling Christian community in Iraq and other countries in the Middle East.

Last night, the Times reports, 10 bomb attacks targeting Christians took place in Baghdad.

For some Christians here, the latest attacks represented the last straw. “We will love Iraq forever, but we have to leave it immediately to survive,” said Noor Isam, 30. “I would ask the government, ‘Where is the promised security for Christians?’”

Well, the answer is there is no security for minority religions in Muslim lands.

From Israel a Christmas Blessing by President Shimon Peres

Israel's president Shimon Peres extends Christmas wishes to Israel's Christian community; a growing one at that.

I give him credit and that's what I have to say.

Not all tidings are of great joy - Jeff Jacoby

The Boston Globe's Jeff Jacoby writes about the life of Egypt's Coptic Christians and Christians in Muslim countries.
On May 31, 2008, a band of Bedouin Muslims armed with automatic weapons stormed Abu Fana [an ancient monastery], destroying a small church and burning the monastery's farm. Nine monks and monastery employees were wounded, and four others were abducted.
What is most tragic about the plight of the Copts, however, is that they comprise only a fraction of the estimated 200 million Christians in 60 countries worldwide who face persecution because of their religion.

From Egypt to Iraq it's hard to be a Christian.
